A dealer in authentic antique limestone sinks.
Every sink is solid reclaimed limestone, carved, weathered, and chosen by hand.
History, reclaimed with care.
Ancient Surfaces is a specialist in reclaimed antique limestone sinks. We find stone sinks that have already lived one life, conserve them with care, and offer them for sale to the bathrooms, kitchens and restoration projects being built today. A sink is used every day of a building's life, and we think it deserves stone with something behind it.
The collection ranges from hand carved console sinks with garlands, grapevines and scroll legs, to mosaic and inlaid basins, to wall sinks with their own backplates and plain deep troughs where the stone does all the talking. Each piece is cleaned and conserved with respect for the patina it arrived with. We are careful never to restore that away, and we describe every sink only from what the stone itself shows.
Ancient Surfaces has appeared on the front covers of Architectural Digest in May 2011 and LUX Magazine in November 2012, which says something about how our antique limestone sinks and architectural antiques are regarded within the design world.
We supply antique limestone sinks to private residences across Manhattan, Jersey City and Newark, and to projects nationwide and abroad through worldwide crating and delivery. Every reclaimed stone sink we sell becomes part of how a family lives now.
Restraint, always.
We do not over restore, we do not reproduce, and Ancient Surfaces has never sold a cast or copied sink. Every limestone sink for sale here is genuine, singular and chosen by hand. The collection grows slowly on purpose.
