Bowed Basin Limestone Console Sink on Saltire Blocks

A long limestone console sink whose top bows forward at the centre to hold a broad oval bowl, the swelling carried down through the front face of the slab. Faint inlaid star motifs survive on the top at both ends. The legs are two plain tapering slabs, roughly squared, standing on cubic blocks carved with a saltire cross on their front faces. The limestone is pale cream with darker spotting, open cracks and broken arrises along its edges, the record of long use. Suited to kitchens, bathrooms, country residences and architectural restoration work.
